Our oven and the first produce. :)
I'm trying to write my essay. I have two days to do it. So what do I do? the last half hour or so I've been taking pictures of my eyes, trying to determine what colour they are. And I have reached a conclusion. The more light that shines on them, the more yellow they are. So I thought I'd just put that on my blog, just so I can have some feeling of accomplishment today too...

Tina und Manuel: Comrades in booze.

Yes, a good ol fashion fire drill. Ahh, I miss those days in Vic house. Getting brutally awaken in the middle of the night, and freezing outside while waiting for the firemen to recover the item that had been microwaved for too long.. Nah, not really. Yesterday we had our first false alarm of Stafford house. And we had to walk back up...Soundtrack: The National Bank - Half Blind
I AM SO COLD! Why won't they turn up the heat a bit... BRR! I am really quite bored now. Really. The next 7 days are devoted to my assignment, haven't done much today, but still feel proud as that I started.. hehe. It's gonna take some work though.. and I can't munch! Damn, I always munch when I am working, but my toothache is lingering, like a grey shadow over everything that I do. I will be sooo happy when I'm finished on Thursday. Still, I'm scared stiff. so mentally exhausting to go around and prodding all these feelings of fear all the time... And a total of all my friends don't get me at all. At least Jo doesn't laugh at me.
Today we went out for a dinner and a show. Nice.. we went to Istana Malaysia for dinner, which was nice, and then afterwards we went to Reading to see Iceage 2. Nice evening. :) Feels strange not to go out on a Friday... and I don't think I'm going out tomorrow either, not with this toothache, so it will be my first weekend since I go here that I'm not going out. weird.. but it feels nice too.
So, as I said I completely toasted our shoes. and today was the sad day of parting with my old shoes... They have served me well indeed. If u feel like going down memory lane with me, go to my archive and look up October 16 last year when I bought them. So young... So full of life...
healthy individual, who works out several times a week. They marked a milestone in my life that way. I shall always remember them.
understand, not a whole lot is happening nowadays. I'm procrastinating as hard as I can, succeeding in a way with that. Was supposed to go for ballroom dancing today, but I actually hurt my anckle yesterday, so not reallly fit to be dancing ard trying to look gracious today. Mattis is havin a slumberparty, introducing Bearly to the rest of the gang. Hope they will keep it down so I can sleep.. hehe.
Paintball is absolutely awesome!!! Spent about 3 hours on the field today, shooting at my flatmates and friends and getting shot at. Running in the bush and crouching down behind tyres and all... The first 15 minutes I was scared shit to get shot, and then I got shot, and that was it. It hurts like shit, but only for about 3 seconds. So: KILL'EM ALL! Man, that was fun. At the end, to empty our guns, we had a mexican stand-off, where we stood ground and just emptied our guns at each others. pain... immense pain.
When we got back we put our shoes in the washer. Aaand... They're all melted now. I don't know how to tell Ronny...

(dodgy as!) we went back and met up with Geeta's friend from Singapore (afraid to spell her name, in fear of being extremely rude and insulting the entire Indian world). We crashed an Indian party and it was really cool, there were free drinks and lots of Indian music all night! We danced the night away and then went to Gogo's for the first time ever. I quite liked it there.

Whoop Whoop. Another excellent excuse to go partying, and I grabbed it. I kinda crashed Joe's party-crashing... Or rather: I was a co-crasher. It worked out pretty well. Come to think of it, I've been out every single week-end since I arrived here. Hm. We started out with a whole bunch of ppl, but when we came to cuba, everything kinda dissolved... Some guys wanted to go to Bodega, and I was just like: Bodega!? That's a bogan place! They ended up trying it out anyway, and soon realised that I was right. *sigh* Listen to the locals. (newbies)..
night. :) Ended up with Sophie and Duncan from the hostel last year, which was a bit weird since I really don't know them. But now that we don't live together, every last year hostel-mate is a friend. Weird eh?
No Feli, Honey cola is not my new love. Actually, it's this guy that I'm hung up on now. Can u believe it? THIS GUY. He's not my type, I've spoken to him a total amount of ONE time, (ok, it was more than just five minutes, more like an hour or a bit more.. but STILL), and yet I can't get him out of my head! It's ridiculous!!!! I've met him ONCE!! I hardly know his name!
This here is our flat. Residents: Tina, Joanne and Joseph. It's quite an ok place, if it wasn't for the circumstances and the scary as kitchen... It gives us electric shocks all over the place. Having an electrician to look at it on Monda, and hopefully he will sort it out. My room is nice, and I've got a view over Thorndon and I can see the hills and so on. I was fearing a view of another building, so I'm quite satisfied in a way.
It was G-R-E-A-T GREAT! The weather was nice as, warm and sunny. I wasn't sick from going out on Saturday night. It was LOUD AS. There were tonnes of ppl dancing on the grass, in the end I couldn't help myself and surrended to them. It was bliss. I LOVE Salmonella Dub, and I hereby promise that in the future nothing will stop me from going to concerts with them. Price, exams, handins..... NOTHING! I'm sold.
So yea, I went to Singapore as well after I finished my stay in Malaysia. That was like a continuation of my extreme shopping in Malaysia.. I stayed with Felicia, my friend from the first trimester here in NZ. One night was also spent with my friend Regina, who was here on the same program as Feli. Singapore was totally awesome. I didn't know much about any Asian countries before I left, so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I had in store was some really hardcore sightseeing and shopping. ^_^
Malaysia was the start of my wild shopping spree, and it was good to catch up with Jo again! I arrived in KL after a day with lot's of melting and freezing.. I arrived in Singapore at abt 6:30 am and was picked up by Feli and her mum. Spent half a day with Feli and then took the bus to Malaysia. Jo lives in one of the suburbs, about 30 minutes from KL, depending on the traffic. Malaysia was a huuuge difference from home. I felt the cultureshock when I arrived there, I'm soo not used to be a minority, but whenever we had lunch or dinner in her town, I was. Strange feeling, but also a good feeling in a way. We spent loads of time eating and shopping, her parents are the sweetest parents on earth, as they took us wherever we wanted to go, basically. We all went to Melaka, which was one of the more touristy cities there. I liked it a lot. We went to the old portugese fort, we went ard town shopping for a while and then Jo's parents took us to a Baba-house. That is a restaurant that cooks food that has it's roots in both Malay and Chinese cooking. It was sooo nice! Best food ever. We went to the night-market where I bought loads of stuff, and returned home late as. :)
When I was travelling to Malaysia and Singapore, my airplane was delayed out from Oslo because of snow on the runway, and as a result of that I had to stay a whole day in Amsterdam! At first I felt like it was the end of the world, but after a while I realised that it wasn't all bad. I wanted to stay in Amsterdam for a day on my way back next summer, but the ticket I bought wouldn't allow a stay that exeeded 24 hours. So, having this in mind, I spent the day in Amsterdam, walking around and taking some photos. What really struck me was that it seemed that everything that isn't allowed at home was allowed in Holland. Prostitution, magic mushrooms, cannabis.. even death aid is legal there. I expected the red light district to actually be a district, but it wasn't. everywhere there was red lights and prostitutes posing, which to me was a new and very strange sight. well, at least I got somehting out of my delay. Now I don't have to do the hardcore sightseeing when I return there in December, I can go to the places that I didn't have the time to go to when I was there now. All in all, I liked Amsterdams. The canals were beautiful, so was the architecture. And so many bikes!!!! If u click on the picture u can see them all in more detail.

Being 25 is a kinda confusing age. one day I got a direct mail ad for wrinkle reducing cream! My mum laughed her ass off, and said that she thougth it was intended for her. BUT, it had MY name on it! And the next day, when I was getting on the bus, the driver asked me if I was a full fare or half fare. So, he actually couldn't tell whether I was over 16 or not... From one extreme to the next.
I dunno if I'm yawning or burping at this picture.. hard to tell. :)
Anyway, here are the pictures that I posted, they are all that I have time to upload now. *sigh* It's storming like crazy outside, and I have to be at work in one hour. For some reason, I didn't quite think of the possibility of storms when I signed up for this job, but so far it has not been that bad. Ppl up north are adviced to keep inside because of the strong winds, here where I live it's not that bad. But it's a bit hard to balance trays of food when I have to focus on keeping my own balance as well...

Well, I thought I'd show some more pics from my surroundings.. The boat in the picture is the place where I work now, and the fiord in the background is the one that I cross about 16 times every day. Well, working in a kitchen is pretty all right though, I like it a whole lot more than cleaning floors. :) Gonna miss the ppl there when I go, they are really nice. but then I have a lot of nice ppl in Welli that I miss now, so the trade will be fair, I guess. :D
Then this picture is the picture of an old farmhouse close to our house. You know how kids always make up ghost stories and find houses that are supposedly haunted.. Well this was our haunted house. It was said that there was a kid that got stuck in the mud under the house, and then he drowned cause the mud sucked him in. And it really was muddy inside the house, so it was perfect. Actually, this house still gives me the creeps. I now wonder what the farmer thinks about it, you can't see it but his house is just behind this house. I guess it's used for storage of hay and stuff... hm.
