OVEN!!

Soundtrack: Underworld - you bring light in
We finally got the oven! So, the whole afternoon has been devoted to baking various things. It feels so great to have an oven! Being able to bake! But now we realise how small our kitchen is... We have to find a better place for it than the table. Big decisions.
YUMMYYYYYYYYYY! Garlic buns!

Our oven and the first produce. :)

Yes indeed, I agree that Bach was way ahead of his time... The sophisticated bunch: Eating homemade pizza on the floor, listening to Chopin and discussing German composers.. hehe.

MUACKZ! My crew. My lovelies. Cleaning up all my mess that took me two and a half hour to create. you gotta love 'em.

essay again

soundtrack: Fat freddy's drop - flashback (jazzanova's breathe easy mix)

I'm trying to write my essay. I have two days to do it. So what do I do? the last half hour or so I've been taking pictures of my eyes, trying to determine what colour they are. And I have reached a conclusion. The more light that shines on them, the more yellow they are. So I thought I'd just put that on my blog, just so I can have some feeling of accomplishment today too...

Looks like it's gonna be a really calm and uneventful weekend. not entirely though: My hopeless flatmate did the dishes yesterday after cooking, even though I did not ask him to. I think Manuel has a positive effect on him, because every time Manuel is here, he behaves totally different. Hmm... strange. I've already started packing. Can't wait for my dad to get here!! I talked to him yesterday, he's booked the ticket, n he's arriving on the 20th of June, exactly one month from now! I wanna plan a nice little itinerary, so that he gets to see a lot of nice stuff. Definitely gonna take him to Rotorua to see the Geysirs, and he wants to see Hobbiton. ^_^ ooh! Let time pass quickly!

flatmate blues

These days I'm spending and increasing amount of time being annoyed by my flatmate. He's like a brain tumour. So... this post is going to just be a rant about him, be warned, if you cannot be bothered, DON'T read on.

He is like a piece of furniture, always at the same place, which is here (snarl) and always saying the same things over and over and over.... "are you going out?" "Hello?" "what are you making?" "did you go shopping?" grrrr.... Why is it sooooo important to know at all times who is in when you're not even going to talk to them!? every - single - time.. Can't you see that when I'm putting on shoes I'm going out?! YES, when you have four bags of food, you have gone shopping!! C-O-N-T-E-X-T

He never contributes ANYTHING to this flat! he eats and eats, but can NEVER buy bread when we're running out, he NEVER shops! He just sits there, expecting to get everything in his lap! He uses our stuff without asking, taking it for granted that we want to share shampoo and body soap with him. What's that?? I am still not over it, and he still steals my body soap!!!
He can't clean! He can't cook! He destroys our frying pan by using a fork in it, he destroys my strainer by leaving it in a pan with water so that it rusts... He just can'd do the dishes when he's done eating, he does them half way!! AARRGGHHHH!!! He cant even take out the friggin trash when it is sitting on the floor right in front of the door! NOT ONCE has he taken out the trash unless I specifically told him to. And he is TWENTYFIVE!!

He is always more than willing to eat/drink stuff that we offer him, but he never ever gives anything back. Manuel got him beer yesterday, and then suggested that he should get some wine for friday. His response: "I don't like wine..."
Enough. Enough! ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH ALREADY!

I'm going insane. Being alone with him just makes me hate him more. Ok, I don't hate him, I just strongly dislike him. Give me the strength to put up with him for another month!

Oh, and happy birthday bloggie! 1 year old today!! :)

Happy 17. May, everyone!

Soundtrack: Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson - Ja vi elsker dette landet

Another year, another 17. May spent away from home. Today's mission: trying to finish my essay, and trying to stay sober and stay away from parties. Missons complete: 0. Peter is leaving tomorrow, and showed up with a whole army of Germans, so again, Norway was invaded by Germany. On 17. May! ah, the tragedy.. Well, thei're nice ppl, so it's ok I think. At least I had a really good celebration, a couple of beers, and then to bed? My essay has now 1800 words, so it's ok. I did some good work today.

for my beautiful country, happy 17. may, some day in the future I will again celebrate this day at 'home'.

*pats myself on the sholder*
Well done me, and happy 17. May!

Earthquake

This time I'm sure I felt it. Last time there was a big one, I was asleep, and only dreamt of it... Just now, about an hour ago there was another big one north of NZ, but closer this time. Goodness... Mother Earth is grumpy.. all volcanoes are at level 1 alert... maybe I get to see an eruption while I'm here? We'll see.

Earthquake this evening

Soundtrack: Jaga Jazzist - Airborne

So, this weekend has been full of events as usual, and as usual, not many of these events have been related to schoolwork... I went for a party on Friday, it was the birthdayparty of a french girl who lives in Stafford House. We went with the group of people that we know but only hang out with sometimes, it was nice to get to know them better. It was really fun, I even learned how to scrum... hehe. Useful knowledge. On Saturday, the dynamic trio that will be united in a flat next trimester (me, Jo and Manuel) went out clubbing for the first time ever. :) We went to our former flatmate Joe's apartment to preparty, something that did not work very well because of the policies in Mckenzies... It's a pretty sucky hostel. After that we went to GoodLuck bar on Cuba, which was really good. It could have been an epic event, had it not been for Joe, who was so drunk that he couldn't stand on his feet... and decided to stand on Jo's feet instead, causing her shoeheal to break. Pretty shoes... all gone..
Jo, Manuel and Peter's hair.. hehe

Then on Sunday, which actually was devoted to my essay, this random guy that I agreed to tutor that day called me at 2pm(and woke me up..) and insisted on meeting up at Kelburn library. I already told him that I might be too tired on Sunday, but I guess he took it as a joke. I realised that tutoring in Norwegian is a real drag, although it is not that difficult. I just hate having to talk like the TV-hosts do, it sounds all fake and disgusting, but that is the by-the-book way of talking, so no choice. He was doing pretty well though.

Today I've been doing some reading for my essay, and this evening I cut Manuel's hair. A task that was not as easy as it sounds.. We didn't manage to get a machine, so I had to do it all by hand. I must say, the result was not that bad though... I expected it to be a lot more shitty than it turned out... ^_^

NOW, I'm going to have a hot shower and go to bed early to be rested for tomorrow. Gnite!

picture

Funny how amazingly warm and fuzzy your brain goes when someone likes your work... so when someone contacted me on my photoblog and said that they wanted to use one of my pictures because it inspired him deeply, I couldn't say no. The result, a couple of days later is this: Timpro's interpretation of my 'heart of light'

For the original picture, click here.

Everything is in harmony in our flat now for once, cause now everything is sorted out. We know what's gonna happen next trimester, and everyone is cool with it.

So now I'm gonna go to bed all warm and fuzzy inside my brain, feeling completely unacomplished in my studying, and sleep tight until the morning when I have to get up early and have a marketing lecture. Must stop being lazy, or things will go bad...

fuzzy fuzzy fuzzy

satisfied spider

The spider has secured the web, caught the fly, now satisfied it can leave the web to collect dust and disappear.

sometimes it takes a lot of work not to hurt someone...
Soundtrack: The National Bank - blue as we like it

Lies are like spiderwebs. They spread out from the middle, and every single strand of it need to be attatched for the web to work. It's a fragile web, and a breath of wind can destroy it. It needs a spider to maintain it: the liar. The liar makes sure that all the ends are tied up at all times, and this can be quite a formidable task... At the same time the spider has to be careful, not to get caught in the web himself. So tiring... Even though the web that I spun today is quite small, I'm really finding it a task to maintain it. I have tied up the ends, but one end is not yet tied very tight, and I am afraid that it will break. I can't wait for it to get all old and dusty and forgotten.

hurricanes game!

Soundtrack: Björk - the pleasure is all mine

the gang

We went for the Hurricanes vs the Reds yesterday, serious fun! Facepaint and all.. hehe. We had a ritual here, painting our faces, and had to force Ronny to paint some of his face. No way was he going with us without paint! He came 'round. Then we went to the game and I got to see Nonu and Umaga live for the first time! Amazing fun! Thankfully the Hurricanes won, even though it wasn't a great game. My hottie, Nonu was playing so I was all happy. The guys were happy about the cheerleaders.. hehe. Something for everyone. After the game we went out for some celebrating. :) had a laaate as night, went to bed at 7:3o ish....

good times....godd times.
Oh and by the way: on thursday there was a huuuge earthquake on near Tonga, it was a 7,9 one and coastal communities up north evacuated their citicens... pretty weird. There was a tsunami warning, and because international media blew the news up, ppl were worried and left their homes. And lo and behold, now suddenly the government has realised that New Zealand would be sooo dead if there came a real big tsunami. No shit... there didn't seem to be much control here. My dad actually knew about this way before I did, probably cause I was sleeping, and just felt the tremours. I thought it was one of the regular ones.

The Gymoholic

As my funds are running low, I'm experiencing the same work-out curve as last year, when the whole walkaholic thing set in before exams... I'm addicted to the gym. I love the gym. I'm there wayy too much... Yesterday and today, and probably tomorrow too to keep Jo company. my my my... At least it is a somewhat healthy obsession, and hopefully this time I'll be able to see some progress. Since I started training last year in October, I can't say that the reflection in the mirror has changed much.

Been doing German all day, but mostly just for fun and I find that when I procrastinate in German I'm still learning, which is a somewhat dangerous discovery. Reading comics in German is still procrastinating.

I guess I should try to kick in the high gear tomorrow and start some essay, even though I've got a lot of time. Try to do better than last time. That is always a good goal.

a rare occurance: hangover

Soundtrack: Paul Desmond & Dave Brubeck - Take Five

On a tuesday. I am sooo embarrased of myself... Thus I decided to blog, displaying to the world just how embarassed I am and just to make it even worse so that I never do something this stupid again. I can't believe it.. I'm becoming more and more of a teenage drunk the older I get! Maybe it's like a last fling or something before I get too old to act this way. Maybe.. I just know that I'm having so much fun! What am I gonna do.... just keep on going? As long as my grades are ok? Study harder? And play on? Maybe...

Getting drunk already..

Tina und Manuel: Comrades in booze.

Apologized to Jason today, just cause we were kinda abrupt and rude, barging in on him.. He thought it was hilarious. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that some ppl have humour. And are not too sore about things. Haven't seen the others today. It was fun though, the night ended at about 3am.

Mental note: Never on a Monday.
Drunk happy Tina is typing again...Oh my goodness... Mauel shows up at 8:30 and says that I should come to this international party, and that it's the nast night with Ina an that she will be really sad If I don't come to the party.. So I guess I'm going to the partyright? Anyway, we make a total fool of ourselves, barging into Jason's flat and taking photos and all.... really bad.. Ina must be sooo embarrassed by us. (I'm sure she is). So we show up at the party, wayy too late just as I predicted it's a really sad party. We end up gettting whasted at some irish pub.... on a Monday.... it's getting worse. Jo, if I woke u up at 3am I apologize!
Tina und Ina, die fantastischen zwei!
This is Me and Ina, she is embarrassed cause we just barged in on her guitar session with Jason O..... Poor girl...

Weekend

Soundtrack: Gotan Project - Celos

Have had a quiet and nice weekend, for a change. On Friday I went out to Murphy's with Geeta, Manuel and a girl called Ina that has been here for a week now. Nice to have some girlpower for a change. :) Saturday we went to see a movie called the Matador, which was funny. A nice little movie to just relax on a saturday evening, for once. N then we went to our old time favourite. Espressoholic. Ahh.. the good ol' days with kuni n his four girlfriends, and chilling with the group. *sigh* I think no one can resist that place. And today, I've been sick. Soar throat, fever, feeling sorry for myself.. calling mum... the lot. Pat woke me up at 14:30, wanting to borrow our frying pan, and I think he was kinda surprised that he woke me up, and I was kinda surprised that I was the first one to wake up... this flat is weird. Two ppl who sleep till evening and one that is never here.

I'm kinda tired.
Time for bed again.

all I want

I just want to sleep.
I just want to get through the day not worrying about not being appreciated, I just want to feel safe that life will bring me what I need. I just want back my faith, that everything sorts itself out. I want my heartrate to go down. I don't want to be afraid of change. I want to get fit. I want an oven.

Why do I worry so much?

I need assurance.

PMS (take it as a warning)

Soundtrack: Nick Cave - Love Letter

To long for something that is achievable if one dares to go for it, and to be realistic about what has been

I just finished watching Bridget Jones: The edge of reason, and now I'm really depressed... Why can't I fall in love with someone nice? someone who hits on me when I go out, who seems really nice and who actively seeks me up? Why do I always have to find some kind of mistake with them that just makes me leave in silence? Why do I have to be so picky..
And my new flatmate is driving me slowly insane. With Jo gone like all the time, it's just getting more and more worse. He is so monotone, so boring... And the worst of it is; he is a really NICE guy.

Please, PLEASE, let there be a change.

YUUUMMMM... yumm yummyummyumyumm

Other than that it's been nice to have a day off. Off from working like insane on my assignment and having an average resting pulse at about 110... I went with Jo and Trong to Satay Kingdom. Nice as, as always. Fish Curry is to die for.. Nah, rather to kill for.
Got out some movies, and I'm ready to be serious about my studies now. I sincerely hope. So So I'm gonna sulk for a little while longer, and then I'm gonna hit the books.

assignment...

It is now 2:34 am and I was going to sleep but I'm so stressed that my heart is racing on and I can't sleep I'm just thinking of the assignment and all the things I should be doing and worrying about the grade so I decided to give a shit about sleep and just study no use in trying to relax and whasting time like that when I can't sleep anyway. This is bad.

Look familiar anyone?

Soundtrack: Recloose - Why I Otta

Guess what happened yesterday:
FIRE!! ..not. Yes, a good ol fashion fire drill. Ahh, I miss those days in Vic house. Getting brutally awaken in the middle of the night, and freezing outside while waiting for the firemen to recover the item that had been microwaved for too long.. Nah, not really. Yesterday we had our first false alarm of Stafford house. And we had to walk back up...

I'm working, working, freaking out as usual and believing that I will fail the course and be kicked out of my education... Oh, the drama. If I fail this assignment that means hard work not to fail the paper. But: I have resolved that I will work harder from now on. I can't go on like it have up until now. I shall continue to play hard, but less time will be spent on procrastination and being lazy.

Next week we start again. I must say, next trimester I want to try and get my German classes squeezed into 3 days.. I hate having to travel up and down the whole week. So much time seems to vanish just in travelling...
Now I have to finish my assignment.

Survived!

I survived my dentist appointment, and can happily say that I don't remember any of it at all! Lovely... :)
Joanne came with me, and it all went very fast. Indeed, very fast. It said on the info that I got that the sedation blocks out your memory, so it seems like it goes very fast. And it did, it seemed like it took about 3 minutes. I love my dentist...

Assignment

Soundtrack: Nick Cave - sorrowful wife

Got the dentist appointment tomorrow. My nerves are still hanging in there, I have no Idea why but I'm thankful all the same.

Quiet, thoughtful and a bit melancholy tonite. I think it's called nostalgic...

I know lives, I could miss
Without a Misery -
Others - whose instant's wanting -
Would be Eternity -

The last - a scanty Number-
'Twould scarcely fill a Two -
The first - a Gnat's Horizon
Could easily outgrow -
Emily Dickinson

ok.. I have no life

Soundtrack: Björk - hidden place

It is really evident, when one has nothing to do. Suddenly, u have time to write about absolutely everything that happens every day...

I went jogging in my new shoes today, and it was kinda horrible... they need a lot of time, I think, to become comfy. I have blisters so big that they are almost bigger than my toes... I have no idea how to soften the shoes. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Apart from that, I maxed out the traffic on my connection, and actually got some work done. And some new procrastinating: I created a scrapbook of all the plays I've gone to here in New Zealand, and I will put in nice pictures from my time here as well. Must go see more plays..
And, now I have Cheech and Chong to look forward to. :)

Snore

Soundtrack: Still, The National Bank - Half blind

This is like the creepiest shopping mall display I've seen in a while...
Slow days, haven't done much today. Gonna max out my internet traffic tomorrow and be without connection for the entire Sunday, maybe then I can get something done. It's worth a try. Gonna tuck in early for a change. (early = 1am) Some Emily Dickinson on the bedside should set me up for some nice dreams. ^_^

I am so cold...

Soundtrack: The National Bank - Half Blind
The moon over Wellington yesterday

I AM SO COLD! Why won't they turn up the heat a bit... BRR! I am really quite bored now. Really. The next 7 days are devoted to my assignment, haven't done much today, but still feel proud as that I started.. hehe. It's gonna take some work though.. and I can't munch! Damn, I always munch when I am working, but my toothache is lingering, like a grey shadow over everything that I do. I will be sooo happy when I'm finished on Thursday. Still, I'm scared stiff. so mentally exhausting to go around and prodding all these feelings of fear all the time... And a total of all my friends don't get me at all. At least Jo doesn't laugh at me.

Today we went out for a dinner and a show. Nice.. we went to Istana Malaysia for dinner, which was nice, and then afterwards we went to Reading to see Iceage 2. Nice evening. :) Feels strange not to go out on a Friday... and I don't think I'm going out tomorrow either, not with this toothache, so it will be my first weekend since I go here that I'm not going out. weird.. but it feels nice too.

nice as light... Seldom that I see the moon like this

Buhbye shoes... U served me well!

Soundtrack: Sergei Rachmaninov - Konzert für Klavier und Orchester nr.2 c-moll op 18

My poor sweet melted shoes... shot down in their prime.. I am a monster! So, as I said I completely toasted our shoes. and today was the sad day of parting with my old shoes... They have served me well indeed. If u feel like going down memory lane with me, go to my archive and look up October 16 last year when I bought them. So young... So full of life...
They were the one who changed my life, they helped me change from a couch-potato to a more Sigh. all melted.healthy individual, who works out several times a week. They marked a milestone in my life that way. I shall always remember them.

So today I went and bought some new shoes. I can't not run anymore, at least now I know how to wash my shoes. You learn from mistakes. Yeah, as you may My new groovy 'cross trainers' that I got today from the nr 1 shoe warehouse. They're comfy, so hopefully they will do a good job.understand, not a whole lot is happening nowadays. I'm procrastinating as hard as I can, succeeding in a way with that. Was supposed to go for ballroom dancing today, but I actually hurt my anckle yesterday, so not reallly fit to be dancing ard trying to look gracious today. Mattis is havin a slumberparty, introducing Bearly to the rest of the gang. Hope they will keep it down so I can sleep.. hehe.

24 Bruises! (I counted)

Soundtrack: Faith No More - Easy

PAINTBALLL!!!!

Our crew!! The two randoms were pretty cool, they're at the front with me

Paintball is absolutely awesome!!! Spent about 3 hours on the field today, shooting at my flatmates and friends and getting shot at. Running in the bush and crouching down behind tyres and all... The first 15 minutes I was scared shit to get shot, and then I got shot, and that was it. It hurts like shit, but only for about 3 seconds. So: KILL'EM ALL! Man, that was fun. At the end, to empty our guns, we had a mexican stand-off, where we stood ground and just emptied our guns at each others. pain... immense pain.

Paint everywhere! Someone hit me in the head. Have a bump now. Shoes that used to be white.

When we got back we put our shoes in the washer. Aaand... They're all melted now. I don't know how to tell Ronny...

Holiday, barbecue and stuff

Soundtrack: Nina Simone - Black is the colour of my true love's hair

This weekend, as usual, there was partying. This time to celebrate the fact that our holiday has started! Easter holiday here I come! writing a 5000 word assignment... I got my German assignment back today and got a B+, cause I didn't take it seriously enough. that sucks, but at least I have a chance to resubmit. I'll do that. Have spent a whole our correcting my grammar and vocab, and was banging my head against the desk in despair when finally Manuel came to my aid. Thank goodness.. it's nice to have a private tutor. ^_^ Our cozy little barbecue outsuide the common room. niice. Featuring: (Edith and Elena for a short while), Joanne, Ronny, Patrick, Manuel, Kristof, Reenay, Trong and me.

This friday we had a bbq. It wasn't one of large scale, but it worked. A bit windy, but no rain, so good one. :) I made some awesome (forgive my modesty) teriyaki salmon packages, have been craving fish for some while so it was good as. After bbq we had a preparty in our flat and then hit the town.

Then on Saturday, Geeta asked me if I wanted to go out. Finally! A girl's night! We met up in her flat, then after a short trip to Mckenzies (dodgy as!) we went back and met up with Geeta's friend from Singapore (afraid to spell her name, in fear of being extremely rude and insulting the entire Indian world). We crashed an Indian party and it was really cool, there were free drinks and lots of Indian music all night! We danced the night away and then went to Gogo's for the first time ever. I quite liked it there.

So, now it is time to get serious and do some studying... I can't believe how lazy I am.

I love my dentist!

Soundtrack: Faithless - Salva Mea

I can't believe this! Here I was, chillin' out listening to loud as music, celebratin that my holiday is officially started, and the phone rings. IT'S MY DENTIST! He called to acknowledge my appointment that I booked yesterday, and wanted to know how I was doing, and then he went through the procedure with me, how the sedation works an all, and told me to have confidence in the sedation. I feel like a queen. All warm and fuzzy, my dentist really cares about me. :) I'm gonna get through it.

The least thing I can do in return is to give him credit:
It is Jeff Jones, at Symes de Silva house on Courtenay.

small update

Soundtrack: Massive Attack - Name Taken

Got woken up by a quick earthquake this morning.

I'm heading for bed, but thought I'd throw in a small update before I go. Have had a busy few days, and still I have an essay to finish by Friday!! Oh well, it shouldn't be impossible, but not that easy either. The topic is a bit boring.

This weekend I've been partying AGAIN. There was a Karaoke night in Stafford on Friday, and I sang Aha - Take on me. Horribly... *L* Ah well, it was good fun. Saturday I went out with Patrick, Manuel and my new flatmate, Ronny. He is really cool, I like him. :) He is definitely much more subdued than Joe, but he is good fun. I'm craving for girls... I'm hanging out with guys all the time! I'm really funny these days. I'm completely surrounded by people, but in a funny way I still feel a bit lonely. And afraid of being alone.. A lot of ppl will be going away in the next two weeks, so for all of my friends who are staying in Wellington: prepare to be bugged!! I'll show up when u least expect it and demand your attention. Everything is always changing and I guess the pace in which they are changing is freaking me out a bit..
So I went out for a walk just now and tried to calm my mind to focus on my essay, but didn't really succeed that well. My thoughts are flying away as much now as before I went out.

New flatmate

Soundtrack: Erasure - A little respect

My very evasive new flatmate
So we've got a new flatmate. He's Norwegian, and his name is Ronny (same as my brother) and he is from Stavanger (same as my brother!). A bit spooky. *L* He seems really nice, but compared to Joe I must say that this guy is ultra shy. I was not allowed to take a clear shot of him, so the microwave was kind of a compromise.. hehe. (w0w, looking at this picture I realise that our microwave needs a serious cleaning.....) A bit early to say, but it seems like it's gonna be smooth sailing living with this guy. :) Which is nice. I can get some studying done now.

Tonite I went to see Geeta and we went to Midnight espresso for a chat and some chowder, and then we met up with Joe. Was nice to just sit there and chat about this and that, and now I'm nervous that tomorrow I'm gonna be super tired, cause It's already 1:15am and I have a class at 8:30... Ah well. I'll do my best to stay awake tomorrow. :)

Now I really have to go to sleep, or I'm gonna be in trouble. Later everyone!

D

Man... I am one emotionally disturbed girl these days. It might be some serious PMS (which it is, cause I'm stuck on my Product Market Structure, PMS for short in Marketing), but I'm like a human rollercoaster. Joe has moved out, and already I miss him like hell. And he's been trying to "brainwash"me to say that I'm in love with Justin and Manuel. I really like Manuel, he is a nice guy. But that's that. I want to be his friend, but I don't want more than that. I'm still hung up on Wes..

so to let off some steam, I decided to go for a run. Asking for some sort of sign. And the funniest thing happened. I decided to go up the dreaded Aurora Terrace, ALL THE WAY. So I did. And what did I see at the top of Aurora Terrace? Yea, a SIGN all right.. *L* As I was all panting and happy that I was reaching the top, there was a huge house which said: WESLEY. And I went up Wesley road to Salamanca before jogging home down Salamanca and the Terrace.

I have got to meet this guy again.

Apart from this, I had a good weekend. On Saturday I went to see a play called "Mum's Choir" with Manuel. It was good as. :) Then we met up with Joe and Pat went to see a history of violence at reading, which sucked, so bad that it was good for a laugh...

Last two days I've been working at the Interislander, doing surveys onboard. Exhausting!!!

...

Release me from this longing,
teach me how to live alone.
Why is it so hard to feel complete
and safe, on my own?

If solitude is a habit,
something that can be learned,
then teach me how to practise it
so I no longer will burn.

The perfect night?

it looks absolutely romantic Soundtrack: Chopin - Music of the night

My night: Chopin on the stereo, Rosé Shiraz wine, M&Ms and a gruelling hard chapter of marketing that has to be finished and understood by tomorrow. No mercy. Hard cold math is blended with a soothing surrounding to appear more inviting.
It isn't really working.

Lucky that I've got wish-m&ms.. *L*
I wish, that I will understand everything by tomorrow!

Joe! Don't leave!

I'm beginning to settle in quite nicely. Our flat is still small and the rules are still too strict, but I like my flatmates and I can forsee a good year. There is actually a HUGE benefit to having Joe as a flatmate; he brings home tonnes of cute guys! I love that! I hope that he will stay here. He has got an interview tomorrow with unicomm, he might be moving there to fill a position as an RA. I'm so used to him now. don't want him to move. :'(

Yesterday he brought home a total of 4 guys, and we all were just chilling in the kitchen, drinking beer. They asked me to come out, but for once I managed to say no. I had studying in mind, but ended up with a pirated version of Pride & Prejudice and a good night's sleep.

Today I've even jogged! Feel so good.. I have kinda worked out my shedule, so things are settling down and I'm getting into the rythm of life. No trip to Northland, but I reckon I'd do good to study some instead. Or allow myself to be dragged out on Saturday by Joe. :) We'll see.

Fat Freddy's Drop in the park

Soundtrack: Fat Freddy's Drop - Live in Waitangi Park 2006

My heart and soul.

Oh My God. Words cannot describe...
I am in love with the band. The way the trombone-player shook his ass in his fancy white pants and yellow/pink jacket with a sunscreen anno 1988... *LOL* He rocked my socks! The cute as singer witht the Amazing voice... The mood, all the ppl not being able to stand still...

It was truly amazing.

Another blissful day in the park. I am soooo in love. These guys are local! I didn't know, they come from Lyall bay!!

All the while I was standing right in front of the stage, music pumping through me, I was thinking that if this was the last thing I heard in my life, it wouldn't be so bad. L. O. V. E -love

St Patricks day

Me and the cute guys.. We lost all of the others. From the left: Patrick, our neighbour, Joe (my flatmate) and Manuel (the guy who'se flatmate's party we crashed).Whoop Whoop. Another excellent excuse to go partying, and I grabbed it. I kinda crashed Joe's party-crashing... Or rather: I was a co-crasher. It worked out pretty well. Come to think of it, I've been out every single week-end since I arrived here. Hm. We started out with a whole bunch of ppl, but when we came to cuba, everything kinda dissolved... Some guys wanted to go to Bodega, and I was just like: Bodega!? That's a bogan place! They ended up trying it out anyway, and soon realised that I was right. *sigh* Listen to the locals. (newbies)..

In any case it was a good night. And a cheap Firealarm at shooters!!night. :) Ended up with Sophie and Duncan from the hostel last year, which was a bit weird since I really don't know them. But now that we don't live together, every last year hostel-mate is a friend. Weird eh?
Anyway, the sweetest thing was that Joe called to check up on me. Awww... :) He was concerned that I was alone. He is a really nice guy. Hope he isn't going to Cumberland house.

So now I'm trying hard to sober up before the concert that starts at 1, Fat Freddy's Drop!!! YEEE!

life

Soundtrack: Sinead O Connor - Nothing compares

I used to like having a crush too, Luke. Nowadays it just makes me feel down. Reminds me of how complicated the whole world is and how my network is soo full of holes right now. I'm probably not going to see this guy again. He is a friend of a friend of Anette's, and I'm not that close with her yet, and everything is just complicated. And I think my Northland trip is going down the drain cause ppl don't wanna drive anyway... Which means it might be a month or more till I even go partying with Anette again and so on and so forth. He'll disappear out of my head, and I'll be back to my old boring predictable self again.

One thing I want to keep up: Going to Sandwiches every wednesday.

Hung up

sighNo Feli, Honey cola is not my new love. Actually, it's this guy that I'm hung up on now. Can u believe it? THIS GUY. He's not my type, I've spoken to him a total amount of ONE time, (ok, it was more than just five minutes, more like an hour or a bit more.. but STILL), and yet I can't get him out of my head! It's ridiculous!!!! I've met him ONCE!! I hardly know his name!

I'm becoming totally irrational. Joe is making me freak out about being single, with all his talk of dating and chicks and one night stands and blablablablabla...

someone help me..

Phoenix Honey Cola

Soundtrack: The Black Seeds - Sit there
See it?
Drink it!
Think it.
Smell it.
Feel it.
Love it.
Live it.
This ladies and gentlemen is my life between here and the 24th of April. This is the essence of my very existence between now and then. Hours will be spent on it, and everything about it. It will be on my lips, whether literally or figuratively for 6 whole weeks. Prepare to be nagged to death about it. So: don't bother learning the name of it, u will know it sooner than u wish or hope for anyway.

In any case

Soundtrack: Craig Armstrong - Wake up in New York

Our groovy flat. Hopefully it will give us more pleasure that it seems like now. We were actually kicked out at 11pm on Saturday, because we had guests during quiet time. I think it is a bit too strict here..This here is our flat. Residents: Tina, Joanne and Joseph. It's quite an ok place, if it wasn't for the circumstances and the scary as kitchen... It gives us electric shocks all over the place. Having an electrician to look at it on Monda, and hopefully he will sort it out. My room is nice, and I've got a view over Thorndon and I can see the hills and so on. I was fearing a view of another building, so I'm quite satisfied in a way.

I'm seeing more and more of Anette, and the other Anette and the ppl. Probably I'll hang out more with the Scandinavian crowd this year. They are all quite nice, I just don't know them that well since I spent most of my time with other ppl last year. I had them all down for kinda shallow ppl that were a bit alouf, but now that I know them a bit better I realise that I was very wrong about that. It's nice to be wrong every once in a while. And another thing: I'm going to Northland in 2 weeks! Yai! I'll get to go on a boat cruise and all! It's with the Norwegian Association, and I'm trying to get Jo and Trong a place too. Will take loads of pics when I go. :) Lots to look forward to. Fat Freddy's drop next saturday, trip to Northland... Assignments and hand-ins.. Jobsearching... ;) Just tryin to keep the spirit up.

Thank you my dearies for all the support. :) *Muakz*

more complaining

I'm not settling in as I thought I would... It's so strange, all last trimester I was jogging past here and looking forward to moving in, and now I just wish I was somewhere else. Anywhere else... There is no oven, and the three of us are so different in the way we eat that trying to have a joint food budget is not really working out. Jo is away half the time and I'm stuck here with someone that I don't know and really can't figure out. I feel like I'm starting all over again... I just wanna be settled.

On top of that I hate the feeling of being controlled all the time. There is so little freedom here. Jo is lucky that she's got somewhere else to go if she wants to.

SALMONELLA DUB in the park, March 5

Salmonella Dub playing 'Longtime', it was the first time I heard that song. Everyone jumping up and down. It was G-R-E-A-T GREAT! The weather was nice as, warm and sunny. I wasn't sick from going out on Saturday night. It was LOUD AS. There were tonnes of ppl dancing on the grass, in the end I couldn't help myself and surrended to them. It was bliss. I LOVE Salmonella Dub, and I hereby promise that in the future nothing will stop me from going to concerts with them. Price, exams, handins..... NOTHING! I'm sold.

Singapore

Like before, just click on the image to make it bigger. Then in the picture pops up a box with arrows pointing in all directions, click on that one and everything goes BIG So yea, I went to Singapore as well after I finished my stay in Malaysia. That was like a continuation of my extreme shopping in Malaysia.. I stayed with Felicia, my friend from the first trimester here in NZ. One night was also spent with my friend Regina, who was here on the same program as Feli. Singapore was totally awesome. I didn't know much about any Asian countries before I left, so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I had in store was some really hardcore sightseeing and shopping. ^_^

We went to some clubs the night i arrived, and I must say, clubs in Singapore are much more elaborate than clubs here. They go all the way, offering the full clubbing experience. I was a bit too tired from my bussing all day, so it was a short night. I went to the Changi Chapel and Museum, which was the thing that I requested was put on the itinerary before I came. It was good and interesting. I know now that we were lucky to be occupied by Germans during WW2 and not by Japanese...

Then we went to see Regina dance. It was sooo good!!!! I loved it! There was 9 pieces, she danced in 4 of them. I felt like a regular pirate, stealing shots of her and the dances when she was performing. I got some good shots of the bollywood dance, and I filmed the last piece. Hmmm this is a public blog... maybe I shouldn't admit it openly. Anyway, it was good as.
I went to Sentosa Island with Regina, in spite of the fact that she had a really sore throat and could not talk much. Poor thing. I enjoyed Sentosa, but it was a tad too touristy for me. Not in that sence, I know that a lot of places in town are touristy, but it's not made entirely for tourists. Like Chinatown, which is a huge tourist magnet, I loved it there. BUT: My subject is tourism, and for that I like to see all sides of a place. ^_^ Chinatown was good for shopping. And eating!

there was so much that I did that It's hard to remember all the things that I did there...

UPS:

Going to the Geylang district with Feli and her dad, and eating a fresh Durian. It was actually really good. At the same time I felt that I got to see the private and hidden part of Singapore, the place where Singaporeans go and tourists stay away from. Feli said that the district would be destroyed by hordes of tourists. She is absolutely right.

Regi's dance. And meeting the families. I went to stay with Regi's family for a day, and it was nice. She lives in an apartment just oposite IKEA.. It was a nice place with a shared swimming pool and the lot. :)

Shopping like mad.. getting a new handphone that I like more and more each day.. :D I guess Feli had to rest up after taking me shopping all the places.. Bugis village, Chinatown, the IT mall, Little India, several shopping centres..

DOWNS:

Feli's mum got sick when I came back from Malaysia, and I did not get to talk to her very much. I also felt really sorry for her, and there was nothing that I could do, or nothing that I knew of that I could do to make her feel better. Feli sais that she felt bad because she did not get to take me out to dinner. I don't really think that she should feel bad when it is something that is completely uncontrollable. Thank goodness that she is all fine again now.

Missing out on seeing a Chinese temple. They are so beautiful, from the pictures that I've seen and I drove past quite a few of them.

Realising just exactly how much money I spent.. *LOL* The good thing was that I had allocated enough funds for it.

The good thing about most of the downs is that I can make up for them next year. :)

that's all I can come up with.

Malaysia

Malaysia was the start of my wild shopping spree, and it was good to catch up with Jo again! I arrived in KL after a day with lot's of melting and freezing.. I arrived in Singapore at abt 6:30 am and was picked up by Feli and her mum. Spent half a day with Feli and then took the bus to Malaysia. Jo lives in one of the suburbs, about 30 minutes from KL, depending on the traffic. Malaysia was a huuuge difference from home. I felt the cultureshock when I arrived there, I'm soo not used to be a minority, but whenever we had lunch or dinner in her town, I was. Strange feeling, but also a good feeling in a way. We spent loads of time eating and shopping, her parents are the sweetest parents on earth, as they took us wherever we wanted to go, basically. We all went to Melaka, which was one of the more touristy cities there. I liked it a lot. We went to the old portugese fort, we went ard town shopping for a while and then Jo's parents took us to a Baba-house. That is a restaurant that cooks food that has it's roots in both Malay and Chinese cooking. It was sooo nice! Best food ever. We went to the night-market where I bought loads of stuff, and returned home late as. :)

Jo took me to Batu Caves, which is one of the Hindu sacret places in M'sia. It was coool. (But not cold at all! We completely melted!!) There was a Huuge gold statue there at the entrance of the cave, and the steps were steep as. About 280 steps, so dixon street times 2. After going into the caves we went ard the stalls, bought bindi and some other stuff. Then we headed to KLCC for some shopping (of course). ^_^ I got to see a lion dance one of the days, which was cool cause I've never seen one before. They were good, and now that I've seen one, I'm supposed to have good luck for the rest of the year. Whee!

I had durian for the first time in my life, and thought it wasn't as bad as the rumours that I've heard. The smell isn't that intense, and it tasted ok. And I didn't feel that my fingers smelled either after I had washed them, but definitely, my breath did smell like durian! hehe. Other than that Jo's parents took us to a wide variety of local restaurants, and I have tried so many things that I really can't remember the name of... food is probably very important to the Malaysian society. :)

3 things that freaked me out:

- Traffic!! I've never experienced it worse. everyone drives like maniacs, and we saw some motorcyclist get squashed between two cars on the motorway, just in front of our eyes when we were trying to get a cab. YIKES. Memorable was also Jo's mum's highspeed carchase after a guy hit her side-mirror on the road to a shop.

-Squat-down-toilets! Ok, really it's silly. It's just that I'm not used to them, have never seen any in my whole life, but they were a fright when I really had to go.

-Spiders! We saw some nastily big ones at the butterfly park. Man...

3 things that I L-O-V-E loved:

-Shopping! Never before have I ever been in such a heaven for shopping. Shoes! My favourite thing to shop were really cheap there, I bought 3 pairs. Shawls. Yum.

-Seeing and interacting with a culture completely different from what I'm used to. Awesome. The many different costumes, the many different kinds of ppl, the strange rules and all that.

-FOOD. All the yummy food that I tried. My gosh.

Malaysia was definitely one of the best holidays I've ever had in my entire life, that inspite of the fact that my stomach was kinda upset some of the time. It didn't hinder me too much though, have seen a lot, and spent heeps too much money. Ah well. It was worth it.

Singapore I'll do tomorrow, I have to do my readings!!

Amsterdam

When I was travelling to Malaysia and Singapore, my airplane was delayed out from Oslo because of snow on the runway, and as a result of that I had to stay a whole day in Amsterdam! At first I felt like it was the end of the world, but after a while I realised that it wasn't all bad. I wanted to stay in Amsterdam for a day on my way back next summer, but the ticket I bought wouldn't allow a stay that exeeded 24 hours. So, having this in mind, I spent the day in Amsterdam, walking around and taking some photos. What really struck me was that it seemed that everything that isn't allowed at home was allowed in Holland. Prostitution, magic mushrooms, cannabis.. even death aid is legal there. I expected the red light district to actually be a district, but it wasn't. everywhere there was red lights and prostitutes posing, which to me was a new and very strange sight. well, at least I got somehting out of my delay. Now I don't have to do the hardcore sightseeing when I return there in December, I can go to the places that I didn't have the time to go to when I was there now. All in all, I liked Amsterdams. The canals were beautiful, so was the architecture. And so many bikes!!!! If u click on the picture u can see them all in more detail.

MALAYSIA, SINGAPORE and NZ, Here I come!

Soundtrack: Fat Freddy's Drop - cay's crays/this room

I've got today to pack, and then tomorrow I'm off!

WUUHU!!

I honestly cannot remember what I went online to do. I've been reading my dear friends' blogs, soon I will see them all again, and it makes me so happy that I get a stomach ache. Hehe.

Luckily, my toothache went away again, but I think it was a VERY clear sign, I should go to a dentist. Somehow I'll muster up enough courage to get through it. My x's mum is a... hmm.. homeopath? Anyway, a kindof doctor, but they use herbal remedies instead of drugs and stuff. She told me to take Bach's flower remedy, something called rescue remedy, and said that it will help with the anxiety. I hope it will. :) I'm happy that we have kept in touch, all though her son is a jerk. ^_^

Everyone: check out Fat Freddy's drop. They are amazing. :)

Neways, won't be blogging for some time now. I'll catch up with u all on the other side of the planet! Lotta love.

more rants

...at least I'm not saying that I'm satisfied by feeling that way towards Muslims. The more of them I meet, the better I understand them. Tom has made me undestand a whole lot more, he is one of the kindest persons that I know. And I'll continue to change my view of things along the way, I just need time and opportunity.

I don't want Norway to turn into an arrogant nation who don't care about the values and views of others, but I do agree with our prime minister. He sais that as long as the government is the most important protector of the freedom of speech, it would be completely wrong for the government to issue an official apology for what has happened. It does NOT mean that we agree with the view of those that printed the drawings!

I must say, that it hurts me more to see my flag burned, I haven't done anything. What the militant groups in Gaza and other Middle-eastern countries are doing now, is exactly the same as was done when those drawings were published.. They make all Danish and Norwegian people angry at all Muslims by burning our flags, when really it is only the millitant groups that are behind the burning...

And I'm upset with the editor of the Christian newspaper here in Norway who printed those drawings, because when asked, he said that he would never print such drawings of Jesus. That means that he thinks he is better than others. I mean that we have to show respect to earn respect.

I dunno why this matter has upset me so much...

I guess the moment that we see ourselves as perfect is the moment that we've gone astray.

old pictures

My mum presented me with these pictures today, asked me if I would like to hang on to them. DOH! They are so great! I can't believe how little I once was... They are taken when I was about 8 months old, and I was still wearing that pillow thing around my waist and hips, cause I was born ass-first into this world. I sure know how to make an entry...

My dad took these pictures, and developed them himself in a darkroom at the school where he worked. And now, almost 25 years later, they look as though they are maybe 100 years old.

Being 25 is a kinda confusing age. one day I got a direct mail ad for wrinkle reducing cream! My mum laughed her ass off, and said that she thougth it was intended for her. BUT, it had MY name on it! And the next day, when I was getting on the bus, the driver asked me if I was a full fare or half fare. So, he actually couldn't tell whether I was over 16 or not... From one extreme to the next.
I dunno if I'm yawning or burping at this picture.. hard to tell. :)

It feels nice to be loved by ones parents. :)

sad

So many things have been going on now lately... now that finally the strike in my airline is dying down, another thing has popped up. Some ppl in a newspaper in Denmark and Norway published some charicature pictures of the prophet Mohamad, as a part of a discussion about freedom of speach. Apparently it has upset the whole Muslim "terror network", who now have threatened to kill Norwegians and do suicide bombings of Norwegian targets abroad. Even here in Norway, the publisher of the newspaper has received about 20 murder threats! It's insane... And it doesn't improve my view of Muslims. I see them as barbaric, without control of their feelings, and kinda stupid ppl who act with violence because they don't know how to engage in normal interhuman activities. I know that this view is VERY wrong, but I just can't help but feel this way sometimes. They kill innocent people in the name of their God... They abuse women in the name of their God... And all the while we're supposed to excuse them because they don't have the same opportunities as the western civilisation? I'm not just talking about the Christian newspaper who printed those drawings, that was a really stupid thing to do. They should have realised that the Muslim world is not ready for such a thing, and that Muslims would react the way that they did. Apart from this business, there are a million other examples of how Muslims use violence to support their agendas. I dunno... what has become of the world?

My stepdad is a Muslim. He is very dear to me, and he would never do something crazy like using violence as a way of achieving something. He is a good man. I know a lot of Muslims who are good people, most of them are living in the western world. I think it is time for "the rich world" to start sharing wealth. That would probably make a lot of problems go away.

Still, it feels sooo strange to be hated with a passion. It feels strange to see the Norwegian flag burned, and see people shouting: Die Norwegians! And to think that our countrymen will perhaps be killed abroad because of this thing...

I'm bored now. I almost have no work this week, and as it is the last week before I go I'm restless and dreaming about travelling.. The strike is fading out, most airplanes are in the air now and I shouldn't worry too much about getting to Amsterdam, which is good as. :) Less stress... Funny how easily I get stressed.

Oh Jo, if you are online, could you email me your phone nr? And when will you be back in KL?
To all my Chinese friends: Happy new year! hope the dog will treat you all well. Celebrate hard.

breathe in.. breathe out

Soundtrack: Briskeby - Joe Dallesandro

I dunno.. The strike in SAS is getting to me. I thought it would only last for one or two days, but now it has been five days and they are still not any nearer a solution... I'm not flying with them next time, they have officially lost me as their customer. I'm flying Norwegian from now on, no more SAS, they simply cannot be trusted. They put airplanes in the air that haven't had their safety checks, if there are few customers they cancel the flight, and now the pilots are striking... Norwegian is really benefiting from all the chaos though, most people are saying that they want SAS to be sold off by the state. I kinda agree....

Apart from that, I got one shorts today, and it doesn't look totally awful. It's not great either, but it is definitely better than the ones that I tried on the other day! :D

So now I'm on my way to work. I'm going to work the entire day tomorrow! From 7am to 8pm! I'm gonna be whasted, but since it is one of my last days at work I don't mind too much, I'll have until next friday to rest, that should be enough. :) MOOLAH!!!

Thursday, January 26, 2006

shorts...

Today has been a kinda down day... I have been trying on shorts, and realize that I look absolutely horrible in them. My legs are ugly as, and white as, and I really don't want to show them. Which is kinda bad, when thinking of that I actually will die if I don't wear shorts when I go to Sing and M'sia... *sigh* It's too late to get a tan before going, and I also cannot loose 30kgs before going, so I am doomed to look like shit. Girls: get some really good sunglasses before I arrive, cuz I promise that looking at me will be like looking straight at a white as billboard in the sunlight.

I'm annoyed by Stafford who have ignored my email. No info on our roommate.
There will be better days ahead though! Today is just a bit down. Das ist alles.

Meeting my dad to go for dinner today, it'll be good. :)

storms!

Fuck I hate blogger.
I just wrote a LONG AS post, and now it's all gone. And I have no time to write it again, cuz my time is up. :'( Anyway, here are the pictures that I posted, they are all that I have time to upload now. *sigh* It's storming like crazy outside, and I have to be at work in one hour. For some reason, I didn't quite think of the possibility of storms when I signed up for this job, but so far it has not been that bad. Ppl up north are adviced to keep inside because of the strong winds, here where I live it's not that bad. But it's a bit hard to balance trays of food when I have to focus on keeping my own balance as well...

Doing fine with German, now I'm doing verbs, which is not that fantastically fun, but at least I'm good at it. Hopefully some day my German will be equally good as my English...

Ok, I really have to dash off now... Stupid blogger!

Bergen

I went to Bergen with my mom yesterday and did some shopping. :) It was good, got stuff that I needed for my trip, and some cool new music. Wuhu!
Well, not a lot going on lately, still working and making the days pass with German language. Got my offer of study, so at least things are going as they should. :)

Zz

Soundtrack: Youth pictures of Florence Henderson - Yet we continue

Seems everyone are updating their blogs now... I can't bring myself to do that. Too much work, and I still like the looks of it, so then stuff it. Nice bloggie. :)

My second day off, and then tomorrow I'm embarking on another 4 days of work. It's a bit on and off, on average I've got about 27 hours a week, still I wish it was more.. I've got to stop spending money now and save them for my holiday instead! I got the best shoes ever, they're Ecco shoes and I got them real cheap, like $120! So I couldn't resist... but that will be the only pair of shoes bought here now. (hopefully... there is another sale starting tomorrow, and I'm a sucker for ecco shoes..)

Now here is a few thank-yous:

Thanx heaps for the Xmas card Loic! It was cute as. I hereby promise that if u take me to a French restaurant in Welli, I will eat snails. All though the thought of it makes me wanna gag...

Thanx for the lovely card from Thailand, Trong, Jo, Feli and Regi! I really liked the card, so good choice. :) Can't wait to get down to see you guys! and cool as that I get to see the body piercing thing! It is what I think it is isn't it? lotsa ppl that put sticks and stuff through their skin to prove their love for a god or something? Man, it'll be the best holiday of my life.

Thanx for the Narnia card Trav! but, I thought u had 4 names? I must have got it all wrong then.. Ah well.

Wanna travel now..

Well, I thought I'd show some more pics from my surroundings.. The boat in the picture is the place where I work now, and the fiord in the background is the one that I cross about 16 times every day. Well, working in a kitchen is pretty all right though, I like it a whole lot more than cleaning floors. :) Gonna miss the ppl there when I go, they are really nice. but then I have a lot of nice ppl in Welli that I miss now, so the trade will be fair, I guess. :D

Then this picture is the picture of an old farmhouse close to our house. You know how kids always make up ghost stories and find houses that are supposedly haunted.. Well this was our haunted house. It was said that there was a kid that got stuck in the mud under the house, and then he drowned cause the mud sucked him in. And it really was muddy inside the house, so it was perfect. Actually, this house still gives me the creeps. I now wonder what the farmer thinks about it, you can't see it but his house is just behind this house. I guess it's used for storage of hay and stuff... hm.

Days are ticking by slowly. I'm working quite a lot now, and that's sweet as. I don't mind. The weather is finally becoming milder, which sucks, cause I really wanted the water to freeze properly. There has been ice on it, but not strong enough to walk on. Or rather, strong enough to walk on, but not to trust. Oh well, I haven't been able to find my iceskates anyway. ^_^ I did find my rollerblades though. I'm having an internal battle with myself whether I should bring them or not. Mostly my mind is not here at home anymore. Tried to get some info from Stafford house about our mystery roommate, but they had only just started allocating flats... I'll try them again in one week. Too curious to wait.

Loooong time no see

My grandmother and my dad at the table at Christmas eve. Nice as dinner as usual. :)

It's snowing! We're walking the short way to the town centre. I like it that my granny lives so close to the city

My grandmother and Mattis

Nice light here at home

This is gonna be a hard post to write. there is this guy sitting next to me and he is chewing gum with a passion to make as much noise as possible, and it's driving me nuts. If I only told him to shut his mouth, I wouldn't have to listen to all that noise, but then he would think that I'm only picking on him because he's black. And anyhow, I wouldn't tell anyone else to shut their mouths even though they were white, I guess I REALLY don't like confrontations... So instead I vent my fustration on you guys. It's a complicated world...

I've had a good Xmas with lots of snow and an average of -10 degrees. It was absolutely perfect. :) We travelled to Trondheim at the 21st, and reached our destination hours later than planned because of the conditions at the airport in Oslo. Crap airport, they close a lot because of bad weather... My Grandmother was really happy to see us, and I wish in a way that I was able to spend more time with her during the year. I'm gonna be a good grandchild now and write letters and send her pictures and stuff, I know how much she appreciates that, so from now on: Dicipline! (Or whatever it's called.)
Got lots of nice presents, and mostly didn't get anything I didn't need. Sweet as. :) I'm now in the process of planning my return to lovely Welli, and I will be back there at the 20th of Feb. Whee! after a super duper trip to Singapore and Malaysia. I can't wait! But I know I have to.

I have to get serious about my studying though, I've been lazy as all holiday. So today It's back to studying and no more lazing about! I'm only making it worse on myself by not studying German, so I want to finish the book before I go back in one month.
Ah well, I have to run now before my brain overheats and explodes because of all the chewing being done next to me. Catch ya later!

All the Xmas stuff

Soundtrack: Trinityroots - All we be

I've done most of the Xmas shopping now, feels pretty good to be done with all the gifts for all my people, and now it's all about the cards. I've sent out quite a few already, but not the "special ones". I have to go somewhere in Norway to send them, and I really hope that I can manage it now that I've been talking so much about it... Hehe. Would be a bit embarassing if not...
I don't think I've ever spent this much money on sending cards.. I'm up to about 40 dollars now, just for cards and stamps. whoa. I guess that is the price you pay for having good friends all over the world - in that sence it is a price that I am more than willing to pay! :)

Ah well, guess I have to run. More updates soon!
Should try to post some pictures...

blablabla

Soundtrack: Leftfield - Swords

I had a good day at work today, just been walking around daydreaming to myself and ignoring the old grumpy men that I make food for. Today's shift of people was extraordinarily grumpy, usually they are very nice, but these men must be of the kind that feed off other people's energy. Anyway, I didn't care much about them. Meeting Odny yesterday was great, finally I have someone of my crew here at home.

I watched the Nobel Peace Price Concert on Sunday, this years winner is the IAEA and their General Manager Mohamad ElBaradei. Well earned. All honour to them, and may they always be here to protect us. ElBaradai was really moved when he entered the stage at the end of the concert, and he said: "As long as I am alive, I will never fail you." What a wonderful man. :)

Quite a large fright

Soundtrack: buena vista social club - el cuarto de tula

Geeta told me that her friend that studies BTM last year said that HGL was leaving for Germany. WELL, Geeta, thank goodness your friend was wrong! He is only on a research leave. ^_^

Still working, cannot wait to meet my friend Odny today! Finally!

Now 25

Well, my birthday wasn't much. I worked till 4, and then was completely exhausted. Went home, ate cake, and went out to eat dinner with my dad. And that was it, really. Got nice presents, from Trav I got Emily Dickinson's complete works, from Feli a cute ass little mirror, from mom and Rex I got a diamond ring (yikes!) and from my dad I got an A-plan! wuhu! no more wallets for me, I'll now appear super organised wherever I go! ^_^
My brother forgot all about me, or couldn't be bothered to call. So much for family love.

Not being able to post pictures on my blog is annoying me. To be able to I have to go through a long series of different things, I have to get it on my thumbdrive, then put it on my other computer to get it on a floppy, then go to the employment office to use a crappy computer to write the post, and then go to the library to put the pictures on. Bah. So that is why my blog is boring.
And Tarz, thank you for waking me up yesterday at 9am so I wasn't late for my bus, I forgot to put my alarm on, but woke up when I dreamt that u were waking me up. Weirdest thing ever! Must be some Maori magic or something..
Feli, Jo and Regi: soon I will have planned when I'll be arriving and all! Wuhu!!!
Greg: u better read my blog from now on!

I've done all my xmas shopping, and can now relax until we go to Trondheim for the holidays. They have snow! Wuhu, white xmas, here I come. Here it is as usual. When it snows, it only stays for 1-2 days and then it's gone again.. grr. But anyway, I'm planning to send cards to those of you that I think would enjoy it, from a very special place. hihi, not saying more now.

Love to all.

I still need addresses!

EMAIL ME YOUR ADDRESSES OR SHE WILL COME GET U! Soundtrack: Goldfrapp - Strict machine

And that goes for ALL of you, cause I left my address book in NZ. No address, no xmascard. That simple!

Not much news, still working and nothing much happening. Looking forward to eating cake tomorrow.

Trav! I opened the present, a million thank u for the book! I was stunned. :D
Feli, tanks for the lovely mirror! It was so cute!
Hugs to you both.
I opened them today cause I won't be home till late tomorrow. :) Any excuse is good enough. I'm surprised that I got any gifts in time, having such a bad rep myself, hehe.
