soundtrack: Nina Simone, Little Girl Blue
Finally, we had a small earthquake again. I was beginning to dread the worst, but then we had a tiny cute little one at about four o'clock this afternoon. I was trying to sleep. So now we had our firealarm, and we've had another little earthquake. Other than that, nothing much to tell, nothing much has changed here.
Having a party at the 20th of August, by Kunihiro's request. He has his IELTS test that day, and we thought it might be nice to celebrate. :) Pubs of Welli beware! We should go to the loaded hog. :) I really like it there. (We concluded that we're too old for clubbing, but pubbing would be great. Small compromises you have to make with age...)
Chinese guy is shouting in the corridor. Why do they do these things? We know they can speak chinese... they ARE chinese... I don't quite get it.
Stupid Go. I'm having enought trouble handling my body as it is at the time, cause I'm sick all the time. I can't train or anything.. just colds and flus all the time. I hate my body right now, it can't resist any bugs at all! And then of course he has to go and tell me that I'm HUGE. Thanks alot asshole. I'm not gonna talk to him for days. Take that Jo! All that he said to u was that u put on maybe 2 kgs! I'm actually loosing, and still he sais that I'm the hugest woman he's ever seen!!?? I have a right to be offended by that!
Oh well. Back to my essay.

Just bcause of Feli
The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free. |
In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved. |
You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring. |
You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic. |
Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets. |
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. |
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred. |
In this moment, you think of love as something you can get or discard anytime. You're feeling self centered. |
I got the weird answer in the end. I just picked the cat cause I love cats and I would loooove to know what goes on inside a cats mind!
ANSA dinner
Tonight ANSA took us out for dinner, and we were sponsored $11 each for our meal. :) It was great to meet a lot of the other norwegian students here. So cool! We went to HEDE, a japanese restaurant. The food was great as usual, but the service was a disaster tonite. They took about one hour to get us our food, and by the time the last person got his food (poor guy) some of us had finished. Guess they have some management problems. After dinner we went to Murphy's to get a beer. It felt strange to be in the same setting as usual and talking Norwegian, I kinda feel like a tourist when it's like that. :D So, after gossiping a lot about kiwis and their strange habits and tings we miss from home and stuff like that, I feel really good. Seems that we have more in common than I would have thought. But then again, we all decided to go half-way round the earth to study in the same uni, so maybe we should have a lot in common. :)
Anyway, I enjoyed my little outing before the struggle of writing an essay this week-end. That'll be fun... I hope in that sence that it keeps raining. It's better for working inside.
I'm soooo looking forward to our holiday now. I need to relax for a bit, do nothing. All though, we're thinking of going to Kapiti Island in the holiday. It should be good. Chockolate factories.. mmmmm... Well, it's off to bed. Got 2 lectures tomorrow, then work.

procrastinate hard # 3 -she's back again

Saturday night! what have we done today? We have showered, had lunch, worked on the info assignment and spent a looot of time procrastinating... Even now as I am writing, I am procrastinating. And: we've had a great dinner at Satay Kingdom (ok, not very flash, but the food was great!) where we sat outside and enjoyed the nice winter of New Zealand. (heh heh heh)
And we have marvelled about Kuni's new haircut. I must say, if he believes that I would do a worse job, then I think I'm slightly offended... (that's why he is wearing a beanie, i suspect.. although he said it was cold...)
Ah well. It's time to get serious and finish this assgnment. The longer I put it off, the longer it's gonna take. (serously..)
firealarm
Today there was another fire-alarm! I've kinda missed those... haven't had one for two whole months now! And there it was. But I forgot my cam as usual, so no pictures. You just get off guard when no one acts stupid for so long... Someone pushed the button this time.. no shoes in the microwave or overdone steaks. I've adjusted to life on third floor which is completely different; I hardly ever get awaken in the night, I can even sleep early if I want to! No one knocks on my door and runs away... I have Trong next door. :) Tarz down the hall and Go down the other end, reminding me when to eat. It's heaven. Except for all the random Asian guys, that are getting stranger by the hour. We have added one: Long-nail guy. He is this Malaysian guy who have freakishly long thumb nails. I'm so envious.... But he's a guy!!! (...or is he?)
Today there was a person in a monkey-suit interrupting our class. He/she ran down to the lecturer, threw some jellybeans at us, hugged the lecturer and then ran out again. Hehe.. left the lecturer baffled for a little while. Not your everyday occurence.
Went shopping today, and managed to not get anything else than two pairs of socks and two pantyhoses. :) And some snacks to get me through Info readings. Proud of myself.

Singing in the rain

Other than my shopping there is not much going on in my life at the moment.. got a tutorial to run next week, a bit nervous about that, and I have an assignment in info that I'm dreading doing just because it's soo boring. There is nothing else. Been watching a lot of friends episodes lately, and today I watched the incredibles with Leonie and Joanne. It was really funny, hehe. I still think that monsters inc was the best pixar movie, but the incredibles was really incredible. ;p Wish that cartoons weren't that bleeding expensive. Probably bcause they never get old. (and when they do, they're worth even more...)
well, gonna force myself to sleep so I don't oversleep for another lecture tomorrow. Gnite

Bye Michael
Guess what. Our all time favourite kitchen person has left the job here in Wellington. Off to new adventures, he has left us all behind. No more Michael. No more early seconds, extra deserts and no more filtering out the gravy. *sigh* We had a tear-dripping farewell after dinner on friday (was it friday?) and he left me with these words: "Thank you for making my job so much more enjoyable." *sniff* And then we hugged, and he was out of my life. My favourite dutch-born kiwi kitchen person. I was feeling a bit depressed, too many people have upped and left in the last few weeks, and still I don't feel 100% adjusted to life without the girls and all.
I even miss Kuni, although I saw him last week-end... He'll be here on friday though, and after that I have to do an entry into our kuni-page. Long has it been since my last entry, haven't written anything since the fanclub outbranched to Singapore. We're now a multi-national club, head office in Singapore, and main office in New Zealand is situated in Wellington.

Returning to the living

Well, I guess I survived, even without my mum here. After spending about 4 days in bed and one of these days reading Harry Potter, I still feel pretty worn out, and not really ready to go back to school and stress again. I already lost so much valuable time that could have been spent doing my work, and feel now that it really will take a miracle to get through the week after next. I'll survive though.
I WILL SURVIVE! :p

quiz and stuff
We went for quiz-night on tuesday, the all star team from Asia and Europe. :) We came in 5th! wuhu! Pretty not too bad. Quiz is fun. Right now I feel like I'm dying... I've got the flu, bigtime. My whole body is aching, I can't sleep, it's cold and warm and cold again and my head is pounding. I want my mum. that's right, I'm nothing but a sissy. I need to be pampered when I'm sick, and when there is noone around to do that for me, I really miss my mum.
My second trimester seems like a lot more work that the previous one. And absolutely no hot lecturers or tutors... *sigh* I miss my german lecturer.. At least that was a pleasing sight. Now we have mostly old lecturers, with little or no sence of humour, possibly management 101 is the best one, and that says something, cause he's not really that funny either... Oh well. When I get into a pattern I'm sure it won't be that bad.
gotta rest now, ppl. :)

Taupo, Rotorua and Tauranga update!
My second trip this holiday, together with Feli and Trong. (Luckily without strange indian boys) We left for Taupo first, where we met up with Trong. In Taupo we did loads of stuff. There was this cool bus you could go on that took you around to most of the sights in T. Too bad that it was winter, cuz some of the stuff we wanted to do is summerish. I'll make up for it later sometime though! In Taupo we went for craters of the moon, which is this site that is volcanic, there is loads of craters with steam coming out and boiling mud and so on. That was a lot cooler than I thought it would be! Feli and Trong went off track and got up close and personal with the craters, but I cannot say that I felt entirely safe around these things... you never know.. ^_^
Huka falls were ok, it was a standard river. But the weather was soo nice, and the surroundings were so green! you wouldn't think it's the middle of winter... We also went to this place called the honey hive, they have all kinds of products made out of honey and beeswax. We also went to a sad winery, they were kinda closed for the winter, which they didn't state in the brochure! And the woman was ignoring us for quite a bit... don't go to wishart winery in Taupo! (But you may want to buy the wine... that was great!)
Then we were off to Rotorua! I definitely wanna go back there and spend more time, there is only so much you can do in one day. We went to see the buried village, which wasn't as buried as we thought it would be... it was kinda like knee deep to shoulder deep. We saw pictures of one of the eight wonders of the world, the pink and white terraces of Rotorua. They looked sooo beautiful... It's very sad that they aren't around anymore. They vanished in the outburst that buried the village. :( The other thing we did was that we took the Gondola and the LUGE! That was so fun! We had five rides, and felt just like kids again. ^_^
Tauranga is a beautiful city in the bay of plenty, at the northern coast of NZ. It felt like summer there... we didn't have to wear jackets. Shopping was great (!!!) there, I bought underwear for $200! discounted... we went mad shopping Feli and me... :)
The holiday was in large part based on great food too... hehe. Food is important. It's horrible to eat hostel food after that holiday...
Well, that's my holiday. After we came home we spent much time with Feli b4 she went home last Wednesday... we still feel like something is wrong with the gang. There are 2 ppl missing!! Miss Feli and Regi.

Christchurck and Mt. Cook!
Update on the first trip comes here:
We went to Christchurch and Mt. Cook in then beginning of the holiday, and it was great!
Day 1: We got up at dawn and went off to CC early in the morning. Stayed at Charlies Backpackers.... not too great with hot/cold showers.. hm. wouldn't recommend it. But the company was good! Me, Joanne, Regina, Felicia, Kunihiro, Tarz and Wilson (Regi's boyfriend). When we got there we had lunch and did a lot of souvernir shopping, and then it was off to the brewery! Ahh.. CD is sooo good. Wish it was easier to get it here. After the brewery we went to the museum for 1 hour and we went punting on the river. Soooo relaxing... :) To top it all off we went to a good restaurant in CC that was a buffet, and we all ate till we burst. Then we walked back to the backpackers. (it took ages..)
Day 2/3: Aoraki/Mt. Cook! It was very beautiful... :) The bus ride took 5 hours, and then we were surrounded by mountains and snow (look but don't touch) on the tips. No Keas! *sigh* They only stay in the snow, so we didn't get to see any. BUT: we heard them!! And they sound sooo cute... ^_^ Beautiful cheeky birds. I'll have more chances to see them in the wild I guess, still have a lot of time in NZ. We thought they would be at Kea point, but that was just a name... Oh well. It was a great trip anyway! Nice to get away from the city for a change.
Day 4/5: Back to CC. We ate a good dinner when we got back. (xcept for Jo, she was sick. poor Jo. : / ) then we were off to our homestays, there was no accommodation, bcause of the lions game, so Me and Tarz stayed with a vic-house mate, Andrew (sandy candy handy)
The last day we went on the Christchurch Gondola. It was cool, great view! We all went mad shopping for souvernirs the last day.
then it was back to good old Welli.
