Taupo, Rotorua and Tauranga update!

My second trip this holiday, together with Feli and Trong. (Luckily without strange indian boys) We left for Taupo first, where we met up with Trong. In Taupo we did loads of stuff. There was this cool bus you could go on that took you around to most of the sights in T. Too bad that it was winter, cuz some of the stuff we wanted to do is summerish. I'll make up for it later sometime though! In Taupo we went for craters of the moon, which is this site that is volcanic, there is loads of craters with steam coming out and boiling mud and so on. That was a lot cooler than I thought it would be! Feli and Trong went off track and got up close and personal with the craters, but I cannot say that I felt entirely safe around these things... you never know.. ^_^
Huka falls were ok, it was a standard river. But the weather was soo nice, and the surroundings were so green! you wouldn't think it's the middle of winter... We also went to this place called the honey hive, they have all kinds of products made out of honey and beeswax. We also went to a sad winery, they were kinda closed for the winter, which they didn't state in the brochure! And the woman was ignoring us for quite a bit... don't go to wishart winery in Taupo! (But you may want to buy the wine... that was great!)
Then we were off to Rotorua! I definitely wanna go back there and spend more time, there is only so much you can do in one day. We went to see the buried village, which wasn't as buried as we thought it would be... it was kinda like knee deep to shoulder deep. We saw pictures of one of the eight wonders of the world, the pink and white terraces of Rotorua. They looked sooo beautiful... It's very sad that they aren't around anymore. They vanished in the outburst that buried the village. :( The other thing we did was that we took the Gondola and the LUGE! That was so fun! We had five rides, and felt just like kids again. ^_^
Tauranga is a beautiful city in the bay of plenty, at the northern coast of NZ. It felt like summer there... we didn't have to wear jackets. Shopping was great (!!!) there, I bought underwear for $200! discounted... we went mad shopping Feli and me... :)
The holiday was in large part based on great food too... hehe. Food is important. It's horrible to eat hostel food after that holiday...
Well, that's my holiday. After we came home we spent much time with Feli b4 she went home last Wednesday... we still feel like something is wrong with the gang. There are 2 ppl missing!! Miss Feli and Regi.
